Eyes
The series started with a painting of an eye, based on one of the eyes from a species of aliens from the animated french film, Fantastic Planet. The eyes really caught Tayo's attention with their piercing gaze and unsettling nature.
After he painted the first eye, he continued to make more paintings based on the eye, occasionally changing colours and painting on different surfaces, such as cardboard.
This would culminate in his large-scale paintings of two red eyes, placed on a blue-painted wall, which is based on the skin of the aliens. Tayo would install this piece as part of a group exhibition in London with his art group.

Tayo really enjoyed painting the eyes, and playing with different colours. The eye is a simple shape, yet you can interpret it in so many ways.
